Deutsch in Seattle Erklärung [Explanation] für Freitag, den siebenundzwanzigsten August bis Montag, den dreißigsten August 2010

Guten Tag, liebe Leser! Zac hier.

Posts from Friday to Monday were sparse to nonexistent due to my travels to and from Seattle, Washington.

Deutsch in Seattle

If you happen to travel to the Seattle area, you might try some of these German Restaurants & Kneipen.

Walking down the streets of Seattle you may be reminded that Germans are big on traveling, as in the course of 2 days, I encountered about 3-4 groups I believe of German speakers, likely tourists, going around the city, talking about prices at the artsy Pike Place Market, talking about where to go next walking down the street, talking about Peace, Love, und Rock & Roll at the Experience Music Project (EMP) Jimi Hendrix music exhibit, where you can see Hendrix’s first guitar and the cream colored Fender Strat he played at Woodstock. As a side note, Hendrix’s first guitar had stickers on it labeling where to play on the first 3 frets. Perhaps I’ll post a picture. With a AAA discount, admission to the EMP exhibit was only $11 – a real value.

Were you aware that German is so widely spoken? German is the most widely spoken language in Europe, and since die Deutschen (ze Germans) love to travel so much, you’re bound to encounter German tourists in any major city in the world. See a top 12 list of reasons to learn German. If you don’t think you should bother learning a foreign language, well, maybe, but the fact is we don’t know what all we will need to know in future situations, but we do know learning a foreign language can and should be fun, and it has been scientifically proven that learning NEW skills (i.e. skills that are new to your brain does play a big role in decreasing the chances of getting Alzheimer’s. So learn a foreign language, eat lots of curry or Currywurst (Curry is also supposed to decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s), and if you’re still not convinced see 10 good reasons to learn a foreign language.

Also, the Wild Ginger restaurant right next door to the top music venue the Triple Door has excellent food and service. Try a lunch at Wild Ginger. Lecker! (Delicious!)
